Your boxes are yours.
Plain English, no small print.
Rummagio is run by Joshua Griffin. If you have any questions about your information, email hello@rummagio.com.
What we keep
Your email address, so you can sign in. Your name and the answers you give when you sign up, if you choose to give them. Your rooms, boxes, the things in them and any photos you add. A record of changes (History), so you can see who did what.
What we count
To make Rummagio better, we count how it's used: things like how many boxes and things people have, how often they open it, which features they use, the type of device and browser, and how people find the website. We never look at what's in anyone's boxes, and we never keep what you type into search. If the help chat can't answer a question, we keep the question (not who asked it) so we can add an answer. We can also see whether our emails get opened and their links tapped.
Why
To run Rummagio for you, and to understand how people use it so we can make it better. When you sign up we send you one email about your account. If you said yes to email updates, we also send a few tips over your first ten days, and after that only the odd email when there's real news. You can turn these off any time in the Menu, or with the link at the bottom of any email.
Who can see it
Your boxes, things and photos are private to you. We can see your email address, name, sign-up answers and the counts above so we can run Rummagio and send emails you've asked for. We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
Companies that help us
Supabase keeps your account, list and photos, in London. Vercel hosts the website and, like any website host, sees your internet address when you visit. It also counts visits to the website with its cookie-free analytics, which doesn't follow you to other sites. Resend sends our emails, and holds the list of people who said yes to email updates. GitHub runs our nightly backups (see below). That's all: our fonts are kept on our own site, and there are no adverts or tracking cookies.
Links to other sites
If you tap “Buy Joshua a coffee”, you go to Buy Me a Coffee, which takes the payment with Stripe. They have their own privacy policies, and we never see your card details. Our videos are kept on our own site. Anything we add from elsewhere later will be set up so it doesn't track you until you press play.
On your device
Rummagio keeps a copy of your list on your phone or computer so it works with no signal, and remembers that you're signed in and whether you chose light or dark. If someone else signs in on that device, your copy is taken off it. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Backups
Everything is backed up once a day, and each backup is kept for 30 days. Backups are locked with a passphrase so nobody else can read them.
How long we keep it
Your account and list are kept until you remove them. When you do, they go straight away, and they're gone from our backups within 30 days. If you said yes to email updates, you stay on the email list until you unsubscribe or turn them off. Help questions we couldn't answer are kept for a year.
Your choices
You can download a copy of your list, change your email address, or remove your account and everything in it, all from the Menu, under Your account. To ask what we hold about you, or for anything else, email us and we'll help.
